The interim government assigned new Deputy Commissioners (DC) to eight districts of the country through a major reshuffle as the districts had been running without DCs, also vital post among others.
The Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification on Wednesday (October 30), appointing the DCs to Joypurhat, Rajshahi, Rajbari, Sirajganj, Kushtia, Dinajpur, Shariatpur and Natore. Afroza Akter Chowdhury, deputy head of the Planning Division, has been appointed to Joypurhat, Afia Akhtar, zonal settlement officer at Chattogram Land Record and Survey Department, to Rajshahi, Mohammad Jahidul Islam Mia, deputy secretary at the Ministry of Shipping, to Rajbari, and Muhammad Nazrul Islam, additional director at the Directorate of Government Accommodation, to Sirajganj as Deputy Commissioner.
