For the first time, the ownership of Dhaka Capitals in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been taken by film actor Shakib Khan’s company Remark-Herlan.
Film actors Shakib Khan and Mamnun Emon were present with Dhaka Franchise at the players’ draft held at a hotel in the capital on Monday.
Cricket-lovers are considering the addition of Shakib Khan in BPL as an additional attraction. Hero Shakib was also being discussed at the five-star hotel for the players’ draft.
After the draft ceremony, Shakib Khan said, “Always wondered how cinema and cricket can march together. As we all know, when romance, action and excitement of the cricket field come together, there can be a big explosion, and an epic can be composed. Finally, my dream has come true. Since we announced the purchase of swings, we have been getting a different kind of love from the people of the country. Cricket and movie audiences have come together. They are all excited. It is like watching two movies on one ticket.”
Shakib and Emon were also very active in the selection of players from the draft.
Both of them said that they spent a lot of sleepless time while preparing.
While talking in this regard, Shakib Khan said, “We had to have many meetings before taking part in the final draft. Domestic and foreign players have to match the account. The night has passed to make the final list. No one was concerned about sleep or not. The excitement in everyone worked. Not only in ours, but in every group that is the same situation. Best wishes from our Dhaka Capitals to every team that took part in the BPL. Each group is trying to arrange themselves nicely. What I and we are doing, this time the fight in the field will be freeze.” Shakib’s team includes Mustafizur Rahman, Litton Das, Sabbir Rahman, Munim Shahriar, Thisara Perera, Johnson Charles, Shahnewaz Dahani, Mir Hamza, Saim Ayub, Amir Hamza, among others. Apart from Dhaka Capitals, Fortune Barishal, Chattogram Kings, Durbar Rajshahi, Sylhet Strikers, Mirpur Riders and Khulna Tigers will participate in the 11th edition of BPL.
