The Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) was organised in 2023 with showbiz stars. The event was called off midway due to internal conflicts.
After two years, the stars are once again taking to the cricket tournament field.
The Celebrity Champion Tournament (CCT) is starting on May 5 at the Bashundhara Cricket Stadium, with the participation of four teams.
Last time it was played indoors, but this time it will be played in an open field. The matches will be played under floodlights, following the rules of full-time cricket, not 6 overs.
There will be a total of 7 matches, including the final. This star-studded tournament will be broadcast by T-Sports. The names of the 4 teams are: Gladiators, Kings, Warriors and Spartans.
Actors Siam Ahmed, Sariful Razz, Irfan Sajjad, Towsif Mahbub, Ziaul Roshan, Joy Chowdhury, Sanju Jon, actresses Mehazabien Chowdhury, Deepa Khandakar, Tasniaa Farin and musicians Arfin Rumey, Jakia Sultana Kornia, directors Gias Uddin Selim, Mostafa Kamal Raz, Tanim Rahman Angshu, Prabir Roy Chowdhury, among others, will participate in the tournament.
The stars have already started practicing. They go to the field every evening and get ready.
The tournament’s trophy unveiling ceremony was held on Friday. The names of the team players were officially announced there.
