Left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam and left-arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan shone with the cherry as Bangla Tigers defeated Surrey Jaguars by four wickets in the Canada Global Twenty20 (GT20) at Brampton City in Canada on Wednesday.
Shoriful Islam captured three wickets in the space of 11 runs. Shakib Al Hasan claimed two wickets at the cost of 21 runs.
Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam plucked six wickets each in their Canada GT20 so far.
Bangla Tigers and Montreal Tigers led the points table jointly bagging six points each from their respective four matches. But by virtue of better run rate, Motreal Tigers are better position than Bangla tigers.
Surrey Jaguars were restricted to 101 runs as the bowlers of Bangla Tigers bowled extremely well.
Bangla Tigers coasted home in 19 overs. Shakib Al Hasan failed to shone with the willow as he could score just one run playing seven deliveries.
Captain of Bangla Tigers Shakib Al Hasan chose Shoriful Islam for the starting of the bowling of Bangla Tigers. Shoriful dismissed Sunil Narine of West Indies in his first over.
Shakib took the cherry in his eight overs. He dismissed Brandon McMullen of Scotland.
Shariful plucked Hamza Tarik of Scotland in the fifth ball of the 10th overs. Later, Shoriful picked up Harmanjit Singh of Scotland in the last ball of the 10th over.
Then, Shakib took the ball and dismissed Marcus Stoinis of Australia in the 16th over. Stoinis notched up 36 using 29 deliveries. So, Shakib picked up the most valuable wickets of Surrey Jaguars and helped his side to restrict Surrey to a paltry total.
