Shikho has announced indefinite suspension of all live and physical classes of the education technology platform in response to the ongoing student protest across the country.
It made the official announcement yesterday at 12pm on Shikho’s official Facebook page through a statement displayed on a red background.
The statement read: “All live classes and offline activities of Shikho are suspended until further notice. We always stand by our students.”
Shahir Chowdhury, founder and CEO of Shikho, also shared this announcement on his verified Facebook page at roughly 2pm.
Along with a picture, he posted: “If the history of Bangladesh has taught us anything, it’s that our students and youth have always been the vanguard of our future. From the Bengali language movement in 1952 to 1971’s ‘Tomer Desh, Amar Desh, Bangladesh” movement, our national consciousness has always been driven by our educational institutions.”
“I returned to Bangladesh with the intention of building an even stronger and prosperous tomorrow by working with our students and empowering them through education and opportunities for the new world,” he said.
“But today, I am certain their courage and determination surpass ours. They have shown us what true struggle looks like. We have already lost a lot, but their sacrifice has inspired us even more. If you hear their call today, stand by them.”
