Several original songs rendered by Sharmin Keya, a popular
musician of this generation, have been released. Among them, there are songs written and composed by others, as well as songs written and composed by herself. However, Sharmin Keya’s first song, written and composed by herself, seemed
to be not getting released. The song she wrote and composed 17
years ago, in 2008, was finally released on YouTube last Friday.
Sharmin Keya’s first song, ‘Nissongo Pahare’, written and composed by her, has been released on her own YouTube channel, ‘Sharmin Keya’. The music video for the song was shot in August last year at white stones in Bholaganj, Sylhet. The song’s music arrangement was done by Amzad Hossain.
Regarding talking about releasing her first composed song, Sharmin Keya told this correspondent, “Since this is the first song I wrote and composed, this song is a little more special to me. I started writing the song in 2008. Although many new songs were written in the meantime, this song was never released again. This time, the intention was to release this song on Eid-ul-Fitr. The video of the song was recorded while walking around the white stones of Sylhet in August last year. I always try to present the audience some exceptional songs. This is another creation of mine in this series. After a long break, I will
be able to present some new songs to everyone very soon, Inshallah. I hope that like all my songs, this song will find a place
in the hearts of all listeners.”
The latest popular song released by Sharmin Keya is ‘Chhuiyona’. Lutfor Hasan wrote lyrics of the song and Ehsan Rahi has composed its music.
Although the number of original songs released by Keya is little, her songs, her singing performances on stage shows, and her voice are still very popular with the audience. The audience has a special interest in his performance of songs in stage shows.
Keya started her journey in the world of music with proper training in singing. Her father Shahjahan Ali Khan was a deputy assistant engineer at Petrobangla. Due to his father’s job, Keya took singing lessons from Gaurang Biswas in Savar when she was in the fifth grade.
Keya’s first released original song was ‘Hawa Eshe’, released in 2011. Her duet song ‘Ek Borshay’ with SI Tutul was released on G-Series’ YouTube channel in 2021. Keya’s birthday is
on August 23. She has a daughter.
