Shamsul Haque achieves honour by US Police Dept

One of the few Bangladeshis who have been able to achieve high positions of success in the US due to their own qualifications is Shamsul Haque, son of the late Abdul Mushabbir of Goura Bari village of Bagha Union No. 1 in Golapganj Upazila. He recently retired from the very important post of Lieutenant Commander (NYPD) in that country’s police department. During his retirement, he was awarded a rare honor by the US Police Department.
He has brightened the image of Bangladeshis living in the US by serving as a high-ranking officer in that country’s police department for twenty-one years. The people of his upazila Golapganj are proud of his success. Shamsul Haque is the son of an enlightened family in Golapganj Upazila. His elder brother Abdur Rahman is a very well-known personality among the Bangladeshi and Muslim community living in the US.

The second brother, Abdul Haque, was a renowned teacher at Haji Abdul Ahad High School, the highest school in Bagha Union. He is also currently living in the United States. The third brother, Maulana Nazrul Haque, is a multi-talented personality. He passed his Kamil from the Government Alia Madrasa and obtained his MA degree under the National University. He is also currently living in the United States. During his stay in the country, he served as a senior teacher at the traditional educational institution of Ranaping Adarsh High School in Golapganj for a long time. He has also served as the principal of the Title Women’s Madrasa in his area. Their youngest brother, Badrul Haque, is an officer in the US Police Department. During his stay in the country, he was involved in the journalism profession. He played a commendable role in creating a crime-free society with the journalist community of Golapganj. He served as the vice-president of the Golapganj Press Club for a long time. Shamsul Haque’s family has a considerable reputation and reputation as a respectable Muslim family in Golapganj. Shamsul Haque’s path to joining the police force was exceptional. Coming to New York without a high school degree, Shamsul Haque built a strong future for himself through hard work and study. In addition to fulfilling his duties as a law enforcement officer, he also achieved special achievements in higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Baruch College and served as the Chairman of the University Student Senate of the City University of New York (CUNY). He then received a Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the world-renowned Columbia University.
His career in the NYPD was a shining example of integrity, professionalism, and dedication. He has overseen accountability issues in the interests of maintaining law and order, starting from patrolling the streets. He has earned the respect of his colleagues and the community for his strong morale and dedication to duty. At the time of his retirement, he was the most senior lieutenant commander of his unit.
Expressing his opinion at the end of his long career in the NYPD, Shamsul Haque said with gratitude, “Every day has brought new challenges, but it has also taught me valuable lessons-about patience, integrity, and the power of teamwork. I am very grateful that I have had the opportunity to work with the best members of the law enforcement force.”
Although he is retiring from the NYPD, he said that his love for New York and its people will remain unwavering. He expressed his desire to work for the development of the community in the future.
Expressing his opinion on this matter of this enlightened family of Golapganj Upazila, Professor Mahmood Chowdhury, President of the Human Rights Implementation Institute and former teacher of the traditional government MC Academy, said that Shamsul Haque has earned incredible respect in the world’s superpower, the United States, on his own merit, and we are proud of this. Similarly, senior journalist Abdul Ahad, the twice-elected president and secretary of Sylhet Palli Bidyut Samity 1, president of Golapganj Press Club, and secretary of Golapganj Bazar Banik Samity, said that because of Shamsul Haque and his family, today the fragrance of Golapganj roses has spread throughout Bangladesh and the world. Shamsul Haque’s success will serve as an inspiration for us.
