Shakib Khan, the ‘King Khan’ of Dhallywood, was the owner of Dhaka Capitals in the previous season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). While the team couldn’t clinch the title in their debut season, Shakib’s presence in the stands created a unique bond between cricket and film fans.
After gaining his first experience as a team owner, Shakib had promised that his team would become stronger, more aggressive, and better prepared for victory in the future. He is now set to fulfill that promise.
The 12th season of the BPL is scheduled to begin on December 19. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has already announced the franchise ownerships.
There had been uncertainty about whether Shakib would continue as the owner of Dhaka Capitals, but reliable sources confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that he will remain an owner through Champion Sports.
The player draft will be held on November 17, and the final is scheduled for January 16.
