Bangladesh’s star all-rounder, Shakib Al Hasan, has been given clearance to resume bowling in all formats of cricket after a thorough evaluation of his bowling action in England.
Shakib had previously failed bowling action tests in both England and Chennai. To rectify his action, the Bangladesh all-rounder had been working closely with Surrey’s Head Coach, Gareth Batty, for the past few weeks. After extensive training, he underwent another bowling assessment in England.
On his third attempt, Shakib has finally passed the test, clearing him to bowl in both England’s domestic cricket and international matches. A reliable source confirmed the news to Cricfrenzy.
His bowling action first came under scrutiny during a County Championship match for Surrey against Somerset in September 2024. Following an independent assessment that found his action illegal, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) imposed a suspension.
He has been absent from international cricket since Bangladesh’s Test series against India between September and October 2024. After that tour, he was unable to return home due to widespread student protests.
His last international appearance was in the two Tests against India, while his most recent ODI came during the 2023 World Cup.
