Shahnaz Belly is one of the popular folk singers of Bangladesh. In the meantime, she is working as a judge in a reality show titled ‘Gaane Gaane Shera’.
Belly has already spent busy time in the stage shows. She has performed in several stage shows in Kushtia, Gazipur and Tangail.
The singer has numerous fans at home and abroad. They eagerly wait to hear the song in the voice of Shahnaz Belly. But this time stage show season is less than the previous year, although she is not very busy with stage show, some good shows are coming to her.
The first week of the upcoming 2025 begins with Shahnaz Belly’s stage show. On January 5, she will perform in Munshiganj and on January 13 in the same area in a stage show.
Shahnaz Belly told this correspondent, “The situation in the country is not normal yet. That’s why the amount of stage show this year is quite less compared to other years. I am not getting many offers of stage shows. Thanks for what I’m doing anyway. Hopefully the next stage show will increase. We will all be busy with the stage shows just like before.
Honestly, the people of Bangladesh are crazy about music. No matter where the event is held across the country, after the event, everyone wants to keep the music organised. But we wait with an expectation from the heart around the stage show.”
Meanwhile Shahnaz Belly established a music academy titled Shahnaz Belly Music Academy in her village home in Kushtia a few years ago which still exists.
Music training is given to those who are interested in learning music. Shahnaz Belly’s dream is that one day many artistes will be established in the country from her academy. Shahnaz Belly informed that she is not doing any new original songs for now. However, she said that she will focus on releasing new original songs from the New Year.
Originally, Shahnaz Belly took training in Lalon, Marfati and Murshidi songs from her father. Again, she took lessons from Khurshid Alam Boyati in different styles of Baul’s separation songs.
Belly came to Dhaka to perform music at Safipur Ansar Academy while studying in Class-VIII. After she sang Lalon’s song titled ‘Milon Hobe Koto Dine Amar Moner Manusher Sone’ on that occasion, the audience was surprised to hear her song. Sujata Ali is mother of Shahnaz Belly. Belly’s only daughter is Mobashwera Kabir Ava.
