Shadman ton guides Agrani Bank to earn resounding win in DPL Cricket

Shadman Islam’s unbeaten ton guided Agrani Bank to earn a resounding seven-wicket win over Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club in their fifth match of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) Cricket at the BKSP Ground-4 in Savar on Sunday. Shadman remained unbeaten with 115 runs. His 108-ball innings was laced with 11 fours and two sixes. Shadman was adjudged the Man of the Match.
Chasing Rupganj’s fighting total of 260 off 50 overs, the Bankers’ team romped home making 261 for the loss of three wickets when they had 31 balls to spare. Imrul Kayes of Agrani Bank hit a captain’s knock of 62. His 58-ball innings was belted with five sixes and four fours. Earlier, Amit Majumder of Rupganj hit a marvelous 81. His 109-ball knock had four sixes and five fours.
Asadullah Al Galib of Rupganj knocked a fine 57 from 77 balls including five fours and a sixer.
Taibur Rahman and Ruyel Miah grabbed three wickets each giving 41 and 42 runs respectively.
Meanwhile, Gulshan Cricket Club posted a massive 57-run win over Partex Sporting Club in their fifth match of the DPL Cricket at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in the capital’s Mirpur on the same day. Put into bat first, Gulshan Cricket Club piled up a satisfactory 221 for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs and then bundled out Partex for 164 off 43.2 overs.
Azizul Hakim of Gulshan hit a captain’s knock of 62. His 79-ball innings was decorated with six fours and three sixes. Azizul Hakim was adjudged the Man of the Match. Taufiq Ahmed of was the highest wicket taker of Partex with three wickets instead of 56 runs. Later, no batters of Partex could shine with the willow. Naeem Islam, Asaduzzaman Payel and Nihad Uz Zaman bagged two wickets each for 24, 32 and 35 runs respectively.
At the BKSP Ground-3 in Savar, Dhanmondi Sports Club posted a facile 97-run victory over Shinepukur Cricket Club in their fifth match of the DPL Cricket on the same day.
Electing to bat first Dhanmondi Sports Club made 277 for the loss of nine wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. Nurul Hasan Sohan of Dhanmondi Sports Club remained undefeated with 132 runs. His 131-ball innings was ornamented with 13 fours and four sixes. Sohan was adjudged the Man of the Match. Rayan Rafsan was the highest wicket grabber of Shinepukur with three wickets for 45 runs. All the Shinepukur batters failed to make notable scores.
Sunzamul Islam captured four wickets in the space of 49 runs, while Kamrul Islam Rabbi claimed three wickets instead of 23 runs.
