National opener Shadman Islam was tested positive for Covid-19, which forced him to miss the first round of the Bangabandhu 22nd National Cricket League (NCL). The NCL starts today at different venues across the country. Shadman was the part of the Dhaka Metro in this league, which is considered as the preparation platform for the national cricketers for their Test series against Sri Lanka. Shadman was positive for the deadly virus in the first test on March 19 and later on March 21, just a day ahead of the league, he was found positive again in the second test.
