Shabnur angry about unprofessionalism
Entertainment Report :
Popular film actress Shabnur has expressed her anger and disappointment with the production company after some footage of her new film ‘Rangana’ was leaked on YouTube and social media before its theatrical release.
While fans are excited about the news of her return to acting with this film after a long break, she said she is deeply saddened by the incident.
In a lengthy post on her verified Facebook page on Friday, Shabnur expressed her anger over the incident. She questioned the lack of professionalism in the film industry, saying that it has become difficult to make quality films in today’s film industry and those artistes are losing the respect they deserve.
In a Facebook post, Shabnur wrote, “I’m a big screen actress. My work is not for free viewing on YouTube. If I had known earlier that this project would be released as YouTube content instead of cinema halls, I would never have participated in it.”
The mahurat of the movie ‘Rangana’ was held in February 2024 and Shabnur was also optimistic about the excitement of the fans.
After the mahurat, she also shot some parts. However, the work remained incomplete due to various complications.
Shabnur said that she had talked to the producer and would complete the shooting of the remaining parts in December after returning to the country.
But she was shocked that the footage was released without permission before that.
She wrote in the post, “I never said that I would not work on the film ‘Rangana’ again. So why were the incomplete clips of the film released on YouTube and Facebook without my permission? Now it is being said again that all the old scenes will be removed and a new shoot will be done, which is completely unacceptable.”
Shabnur mentioned the unprofessional behaviour of the production company from the beginning.
She said that a low-quality poster was released before the work began, which was widely criticised. She also accused the shooting unit of mismanagement and breaking the promise of shooting and editing abroad.
Stating that her long-earned reputation and professional status have been severely damaged by this incident, Shabnur said, “This is not only a personal loss for me, but also a sad and disappointing incident for the entire Bengali film industry.”
