Several AL leaders of Ctg desire to contest in polls as independent candidate

Several Awami League leaders have announced to contest the election as independent candidates in different constituencies of Chattogram without receiving the nomination of Awami League in the upcoming 12th National Parliament Election.

Also, many said that they will discuss with their groups to select independent candidates and announce candidates.

On Sunday (November 26) afternoon, Bangladesh Awami League announced party nominees for 298 seats. The party high command will be flexible about those who are left out if they elect as independent candidates.

It is known that Awami League aspirants will be able to elect as independent candidates to make the election festive as BNP has not yet announced its participation in the elections.

Several leaders of Awami League have announced the election as independent candidates in several constituencies in Chittagong. Former Chairman of Mirsrai Upazila Parishad of Chittagong-1 (Mirsrai) Constituency and Awami League leader Ghiyas Uddin announced to be elected as an independent candidate under the banner of Citizens Committee.
