Bangladesh recorded 297 murders and 1,928 cases of violence against women and children in September, according to comparative crime statistics released by the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser on Monday.
On an average, 10 people were killed per day, and 64 incidents of abuse against women and children were reported daily during the month.

The statistics also reveal 50 robberies, 169 dacoities, 96 abductions, 43 attacks on police personnel, 295 break-in thefts, 888 thefts, 145 cases under the Arms Act, 21 cases related to explosives, 4,585 drug-related cases, and 188 smuggling incidents in September.
Overall, a total of 15,431 cases were registered across all categories, CA office said citing the source of police headquarters.

Comparatively, in August, there were 321 murders, 1,904 cases of violence against women and children, 62 robberies, 176 dacoities, 90 abductions, 51 attacks on police personnel, 311 break-in thefts, 956 thefts, and 4,860 drug-related cases, totaling 15,656 cases for the month.
The data highlights ongoing challenges in addressing violent crime and protecting vulnerable populations in the country.
