Due to the increasing traffic congestion in large cities, ambulances are often unable to reach their destinations in time, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.
The traffic management system continues to deteriorate, and the traffic police have failed to maintain proper order. Neither is there an efficient traffic system, nor do ordinary citizens follow traffic rules.
The government and relevant development authorities should consider constructing separate lanes exclusively for emergency vehicles and strictly prohibit regular traffic from using them – just as countries like the UAE and Qatar have successfully done.
