‘Separate judiciary secretariat to be implemented’

Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed has stated that a separate secretariat for the judiciary will be implemented very soon. He mentioned that comprehensive evaluations are currently underway and the proposals already submitted are being actively reviewed.

He made these remarks on Wednesday while visiting the office of the Supreme Court Reporters Forum.

Justice Refaat Ahmed said, “This will soon reach its final form. Efforts are also being made to remove any constitutional barriers, if there are any.”

He further added that the infrastructural challenges faced by lawyers particularly women lawyers will be resolved promptly.

During the visit, the Chief Justice called for the cooperation of lawyers and journalists in establishing an independent judiciary.

Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed was accompanied by BRAC CEO Asif Saleh, Supreme Court Registrar General Aziz Ahmed Bhuiyan, Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Omar Faruk, High Court Division Registrar Habibur Rahman Siddiqui, Appellate Division Registrar Md. Hasanuzzaman, the Chief Justice’s Personal Secretary Shariful Alam Bhuiyan, and Special Officer Moazzem Hossain.
Among others present were SRF President Masudur Rahman, Vice President Aminul Islam Mallik, and Joint Secretary Mehedi Hasan Dalim.
