The Department of English, Southeast University (SEU) organized a seminar titled “Other Literatures in English: an overview” on Saturday in the seminar hall of SEU main campus at Banani in the capital.
Prof Dr Anwar Hossain, Vice Chancellor of SEU, was present in the program as chief guest, Prof Dr Md. Humayun Kabir Chowdhury, Pro Vice Chancellor of SEU, as special guest, and Harunur Rashid Khan, Associate Professor and Chair, Department of English, as session chair. Prof Dr Md Abdul Hakim, Dean (acting), School of Arts and Social Sciences, delivered welcome address and Dr Sheikh Mehedi Hasan, Assistant Professor and Coordinator, Seminar Series, Department of English, gave introductory speech on the seminar. The program was anchored by Nahin Chowdhury, Lecturer, Department of English.
In the first segment of the seminar, the students of Department of English, Nilima Salam, Tanzina Ferdous, Irean Akter Moni, Barjish Sultana, Karen Nuzaba and Md Anwar Hossain made presentations on American literature, Latin American literature and African and Caribbean literature.
