There are more than a dozen movies on the list for release this Eid. The most talked about are Shakib Khan’s ‘Borbaad’, Siam Ahmed’s ‘Jongli’ and Afran Nisho’s ‘Dagi’. These three films have one thing in common, and that is that Shahiduzzaman Selim plays an important role in all three films.
Selim is very optimistic about the three films. However, he said that he is in a quandary as multiple films are released on one Eid.
Regarding talking about his three films, Shahiduzzaman Selim told this correspondent, “All three movies have good stories. The story of ‘Borbaad’ is very familiar. After watching it, many will say that a movie should have been made about it earlier. Maybe no one has had the courage to do so until now. On the other hand, the movie ‘Dagi’ has been made on the story of love. There are various twists and turns in it. And the story of ‘Jongli’ is very humane. Considering all aspects, the main thing in the three movies is the story. The actors who acted in it are also famous. They all worked very hard.”
Regarding the release of three movies at the same time, Selim said, “Since three movies are releasing, I have a battle with myself this time.
I will be seen playing the role of a lawyer in two of the movies. The challenge was to see how much I could separate the two lawyers. I took on the challenge on purpose. I could have made a movie without it if I wanted to. An actor’s skill is demonstrated when he can distinguish between two characters. That’s why I played the same character in both films. Now the audience will judge whether I was able to
overcome this challenge.”
