The government said on Saturday that all recent fire incidents are being investigated thoroughly by the security services, who remain on high alert to safeguard lives and property.
“The Interim Government is fully aware of public concern over recent major fires in different parts of the country.
We want to assure everyone that the security services are investigating each incident meticulously and are protecting lives and property with utmost vigilance,” said a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing issued this evening.
“Any credible indication of sabotage or arson will be met with a swift and decisive response,” the statement added, emphasizing that no criminal act or provocation will be allowed to disrupt public life or the political process.
“Let it be clear: if these fires are deliberate attempts to create panic and division, they will only succeed if we let fear overpower our reason and unity,” it read.
“Bangladesh has overcome great challenges before-and together, we will face any threat to our emerging democracy with composure, solidarity, and determination. We have nothing to fear but fear itself,” the statement concluded.
