Staff Reporter :

Employees of the Social Development Foundation (SDF) have demanded the removal of its Director, Monjur Hossain, accusing him of orchestrating widespread irregularities within the organisation during the tenure of the ousted Hasina regime.

In a statement sent to the media on Friday, officials and employees who claim to have been victims of discrimination and promotion denial within the SDF alleged that Monjur Hossain had embezzled crores of taka through corrupt practices. According to the statement, employees refrained from protesting his actions due to threats and intimidation.

“He always claimed to be a close ally of the top leaders of the former ruling party, Awami League, including the fallen dictator Hasina, which made everyone afraid to speak up,” read the statement.

It was further alleged that Monjur Hossain played a significant role in preparing the Awami League’s election manifesto. The SDF officials and employees are now calling for his immediate resignation.

In addition, rumours are circulating that Monjur Hossain is being considered for the position of Chairman of the SME Foundation, reportedly leveraging the support of influential figures.

The employees are urging the interim government to take immediate action to prevent any further misuse of power within the SDF.
