Director General (Additional Secretary) of Novotheater, Dhaka, Md. Nurul Alam said, Science Fair will play an important role in developing a creative generation based on science and modern technology. If science can be taught to school and college students through entertainment and if they can be motivated, they will be able to become scientists in the future. Science Fair will play an effective role in bringing out their original and unique discoveries.
He said these things while addressing a meeting chaired by the chairman of the meeting with the local administration, teachers from various institutions and the civil society to organize Astro Science Fair 2025 in Sylhet under the initiative of Novotheater, Dhaka under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The meeting was held in the conference hall of Sylhet City Corporation on Saturday (February 8). Teachers from various schools, colleges and universities of Sylhet and prominent figures from the civil society participated in this meeting. The meeting, which began with the recitation from the holy Quran by Sylhet Express staff reporter Abdul Basit, was addressed by Naima Yasmin, director of Novotheater, Sylhet Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Anwaruzzaman, Professor of Chemistry Department of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology Dr. Mohammad Selim, Professor of Sylhet Agricultural University Dr. Sultan Ahmed Tipu Associate Professor of Bangla Department of MC College Sheikh Md. Nazrul Islam.

Golam Rabbani, Assistant Professor of Physics Department of Boy Bird High School and College Madhav Ranjan Roy, Sylhet District Primary Education Officer Sakhawat Ershad, Assistant Programmer of Sylhet District Education Office Tofail Ahmed Chowdhury, Former Headmaster of Lakkatura Government High School Zahur Ahmed, Headmaster of Syed Qutub Jalal Model High School Abdul Malik, Senior Teacher of Sylhet Government Pilot High School Fauzia Akhter, Government Agragami Balik Senior teacher of the high school Rezaul Karim, headmaster of Amberkhana Colony Government Primary School Ganesh Kumar Pal, among others. Deputy Director of Novotheater Ebadat Hossain served as the coordinator of the exchange of views. The speakers at the meeting expressed the need for establishing Novotheater in Sylhet. In addition, the speakers recommended organizing a three-day Astro Science Fair at the Agricultural University or MC College in Sylhet in the month of April. The said science fair will include Mathematics Olympiad, Science Olympiad, lectures, and science discussions on the discoveries and contributions of famous scientists. Students from various institutions of Sylhet division will participate in it. At the beginning, a video related to the three-day Astro Science Fair held in Chittagong in November 2024 was presented.
