Six more Boys’ and equal number of Girls’ section matches of Polar Ice Cream 28th National School Handball (Boys’ & Girls’) Tournament were held on the second day (Wednesday) at two separate venues in the city.
In the day’s Boys’ section matches held at Sheikh Russel Roller Skating Complex, Khaled Haider Memorial High School beat Dhanmondi Tutorial by 8-7 goals after leading the first half by 6-2 goals, Motijheel Govt.
Boys High School defeated South Bridge School by 11-4 goals after dominating the first half by 7-2 goals, Scholastica, Uttara outclassed Govt.
Muslim High School by 19-11 goals after dominating the first half by 11-5 goals, Shaheed Police Smrity College overpowered Cambrian School and College by 21-4 goals after leading the first half by 11-2 goals and Motijheel Model School and College beat BFF Shaheen School and College by 16-7 goals after dominating the first half by 11-5 goals.
A total of 24 teams, split into eight groups, are taking part in the Boys’ section, while 19 teams, divided in six groups, are competing in the Girls’ section of the week-long meet.
