The Polar Ice cream 22nd School Handball (Boys’ & Girls’) Tournament was inaugurated at the Shaheed (Captain) M Mansur Ali National Stadium on Wednesday.
Minister for Cultural Affairs Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the handball meet by releasing the balloons as the chief guest while Director of Polar Ice cream KM Touhiduzzaman was with him as the special guest.
President of Bangladesh Handball Federation AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul presided over the inaugural ceremony. General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor, Chairman of the Tournament Committee (Boys’ Group) Golam Habib, Chairman of the Tournament Committee (Girls’ Group) Hamida Begum, Marketing Manager of Polar Ice cream Abdullah Al Mamun, Secretary of the Tournament Committee Md Selim Mia Babu were present at the time.
In the day’s matches (Girls’ Group), Shaheed Nabi High School defeated Motijheel Colony High School by 5-2 goals after completing the first session with a 2-0 goals while
Shaheed Nabi High School thrashed Siddeshwari Girls’ High School by 10-2 goals after finishing the first half with a 6-2 goals lead and Scholastica blanked Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment School by 19-0 goals after ending the first session by 7-0 goals.
In the day’s matches (Boys’ Group), Wari High School edged past Shaheed Nabi High School after trailling the first half by 4-5 goals while Sunny Dale crushed Dhanmondi Government Boys High School by 20-2 goals after completing the first half with a 14-1 goals lead and BISC overpowered South Point School & College by 13-3 goals after finishing the first session with a 8-1 goals lead and Dhanmondi Tutorial beat Scholastica by 17-11 goals. The first half was locked 7-7.
