SC assists 28,611 people with legal service

The Supreme Court Legal Aid program has provided legal services to 28,611 people at government expense, according to a report published by the National Legal Aid Services Organization.

The report covers legal assistance provided from 2009 to January 2025, highlighting the significant contribution of the initiative. Officially launched on September 8, 2015, the Supreme Court Legal Aid program has offered legal support to many unprivileged people seeking justice.
Of the 28,611 people who received assistance, 25,366 were provided legal advice, while 3,245 cases were granted legal aid. Additionally, 2,282 cases were successfully settled, reports BSS.
This service is provided at free cost under the ‘Legal Aid Act,’ aiming to support financially indigent and incompetent individuals seeking justice.

The activities of the National Legal Aid Services Organization are carried out under the Law and Justice Department of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.
