Sathi Khan and Samanta Parvez are two daughters of Narsingdi’s Ibrahim Mollah and Razia Sultana couple.
Elder sister Sathi Khan is a popular artiste of this generation of popular folk songs in the music arena of this country.
And younger sister Samanta Parvez is a popular actress of the new generation of the country’s television drama arena.
During childhood, the two sisters – Sathi and Samanta – used to learn music together.
But at one point, Samanta moved away from singing song even though Sathi was regular in singing.
In Narsingdi, Sathi first learned music from Ustad Kamal Siddique.
After that she came to Dhaka and took the training of folk music from Baul Shafi Mandal.
On the other hand, Samanta started working as a model in advertisements along with her studies.
She was very enthusiastic about her acting, so Samanta contacted the director Topu Khan and she first acted in Topu Khan’s serial titled ‘Somoyer Golpo’.
After that she acted in Imraul Rafat’s unreleased serial titled ‘Monzil’.
Samanta responded by acting in drama for the first time by acting in Sajib Khan’s serial ‘Sublet Gooblet’.
On the other hand, Sathi Khan’s first original song was ‘Moira Gele Kanba Thik e Baicha Thakte Bujhlana’, which was written by Sheikh Nazrul. The song was composed by Fidel Naim.
After that, Sathi’s more than 40 songs were released. ‘Ami Ek Emon Pakhi’, ‘Eka Thaka Shikhe Gechhi Chinta Koirona’, ‘Bonomali’, ‘Shaper Chhobol’, which are more responsive among the audience.
Meanwhile, Sathi is about to sing in a live song show on SA TV and Asian TV on upcoming Eid.
However, many TV shows had to be canceled due to the fact that Sathi was supposed to go to a show outside the country.
Some notable dramas starring Sathi’s younger sister Samanta are – ‘Maya’, ‘Chimti’, ‘Goz Fita’, ‘Pochhonder Jamai’, etc.
Samanta informed that in the upcoming Eid, her acted three dramas with Mosharraf Karim, three with Shamim Hasan Sarkar, three with Jaher Alvi and one with Arosh Khan.
Meanwhile, some new original songs of Sathi Khan will be released on the upcoming Eid.
Regarding talking about Sathi Khan’s dream about music, she told this correspondent, “At one time, I had a dream to sing my own songs on TV channels.
This dream has come true.
But I want to leave my vistas as the signature tone in the music. As Momtaz Apa has created a unique position in folk songs, everyone considers her as an idol in folk music.
I would like to see myself in that position.
And today I am being awarded for the song myself; in the future I want to be able to give that honor to someone.”
Actress Samanta Parvez shared her feelings by this way, “I was inspired to act after seeing Mehzabien Apu. I really like the performance of Jaya Ahsan Apu.
I am still very new to acting. I want to work on some good stories as if I am not there; these works remind me of everyone.”
