On Wednesday afternoon, Santahar Municipality has announced its annual budget for the current year and the next fiscal year 2024-2025. Mayor Md. Tofazzal Hossain of the municipality announced a total budget of 33 crore 61 lakh 65 thousand 140 takas for the next fiscal year with a deficit of 1 crore 57 lakh 64 thousand takas in the budget.
In the announced budget, the income in the revenue sector is 16 crore two lakh 560 taka and the receipt in the development sector is shown as 17 crore 59 lakh 64 thousand 600 taka.
Under the chairmanship of Mayor Tofazzal Hossain and moderated by panel mayor Jurgis Alam Ratan, an open discussion meeting was held with the participation of school-college teachers, businessmen and media workers on city planning, health services for municipal citizens and traffic congestion relief.
Director of Santahar Food Grain Silo Shahriar Talukder Faisal, teachers Abam Rabiul Islam, Ratan Basak, media worker Khairul Islam, recently retired executive engineer of the municipality Rezaul Karim, Sub-Inspector of Santahar Police Outpost Mehdi Hasan and others spoke at the meeting.
