The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday sent the Daily Sangram Editor Abul Asad to the jail in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.
Magistrate Baki Billah of the CMM Court passed the order after hearing.
Inspector (Operation) of Hatirjheel Police Station Mohammad Golam Azam, who is also the Investigation Officer of the case, produced him in the court and pleaded to keep him behind the bar.
Earlier on December 14, the court placed him under three days’ remand.
On December 13 at night, Muktijoddha Sangsad Commander of Hatirjheel area, Mohammad Afzal lodged the case under the Digital Security Act. Earlier, on December 12, the daily published a report, where executed convict Abdul Kader Molla was labelled as ‘martyr’. He was convicted for his crime against humanity during the War of Liberation in 1971.
