After working regularly on the small screen for 12 consecutive years, popular actress Sandipta Sen of Upper Bengal took a break from the occasional Bengali serial.
However, she did not stop. She has worked one after another on the big screen and web series.
This time her work has increased even more. She will be seen in the lead role in the limited episode series ‘Sampoonra’ produced for the All India Channel.
Due to this work, Sandipta has left her place in Kolkata, her parents and her husband, and is now in Chandigarh. She says that she faces various challenges every day in the new city.
Many people think that people from Kolkata cannot speak Hindi well – is that the problem? To such a question, Sandeepta’s answer is, “Absolutely not.
I grew up in Bhabanipur, Kolkata, and I don’t have much difficulty speaking Hindi. However, I haven’t been able to adapt to the weather and food of Chandigarh yet.”
As a professional actress, she always wanted to work in different roles. This time, the challenge was bigger; playing the role of a Punjabi girl.
However, she did not get much time to prepare, as she only learned about the character and the story five days before the shooting began.
The series ‘Sampurna’ is being made based on the Bengali web series ‘Nasthani’. Sandipta Sen has become ‘Mitti’, the daughter of a Punjabi family in Chandigarh, at the behest of ‘Nasthani’ director Aditi Roy.
