Sample crop cutting of Bri Dhan (Paddy)-105 paddy was held in Mollahat under Bagerhat district on Tuesday.
Organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department, under the Program on Agricultural and Rural Transformation for Nutrition, Entrepreneurship and Resilience (Partner) in Bangladesh project, the sample of the paddy planted in the demonstration field of Rizia Begum of Kadamtala village of Bhandarkhola block of Atjuri Union was cut on the day in the morning.
Upazila Agriculture Officer Animesh Bala, Additional Agriculture Officer Mehedi Hasan, SPPO Md. Azizur Rahman and Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer of Bhandarkhola block and local farmers were present at the time.
The Upazila Agriculture Officer told, Bri Dhan 105 is a new variety of paddy, its yield is also very good, it is possible to produce 7.75 metric tons of paddies per hectare.
