Popular small screen actress Samira Khan Mahi, who was the target of ridicule from netizens after sharing a picture on social media, recently opened up about the controversial picture and the
controversy in an interview.
Regarding the picture, which has faced severe criticism from netizens, Mahi said that the picture was taken on the set of a drama. She said, “Oh Allah! That picture. It is a very controversial picture, why? I will explain it.”
She said the picture was taken on the set of a drama titled ‘Bhat Lover’, which was directed by Sokal Ahmed and co-starred Arosh Khan.
Mahi said, “I and Arosh did a drama titled ‘Bhat Lover’ on the set of Sokal Ahmed. And the glasses I am wearing are also Sokal Ahmed’s glasses. There was an office scene in this scene, and I said, ‘Take a picture of me.’”
In Mahi’s words, “I didn’t have any glasses with me. I told my director, ‘Brother, give me your glasses, I’ll take a picture.’ So when I was putting on the glasses, Arosh was telling me, ‘Mahi, you look like that!’ So I said, Brother, take some pictures of me. Then I took pictures in different poses like this.”
Regarding the controversy, Samira Khan Mahi said, “Everyone knows what happened later, it became a very controversial topic. But I want to say that it was not my intention to deliberately cause such a thing.”
