The Bangladesh Railway has announced that it will start selling advance train tickets from March 14 marking the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was taken at an inter-ministerial meeting held at Bidyut Bhaban on Sunday, chaired by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, adviser to the Road Transport and Bridges, and Power and Energy Ministries.
In anticipation of the surge in homebound passengers for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, the Bangladesh Railway has announced the operation of five additional pairs of special trains.
According to sources, these extra trains are being introduced to accommodate the increased demand during the festive season. While regular intercity trains will continue to run as scheduled, there will be no weekly breaks for these services throughout this period.
The additional special trains will operate on various routes, following a set timetable to ensure smooth and efficient travel for passengers.
