Bangladesh pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib has faced such consequences in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), receiving a two-match suspension for breaching the code of conduct.

With this suspension, Tanzim will miss the first two matches of the upcoming Dhaka Premier League (DPL), regardless of which team he plays for. His team, Sylhet, have already been eliminated from the BPL group stage.

Tanzim accumulated the highest number of demerit points in this BPL season, reaching four in total. His latest offense occurred during Sylhet’s final group-stage match against Chittagong Kings.

In the third over of the match, after dismissing Graham Clark, Tanzim was heard saying something to the departing batter. The on-field umpires, Gazi Sohel and Morshed Ali Khan, took note of the incident and later reported it to match referee Ehsanul Haque Sezan, who issued him one demerit point.

Previously, on January 12, Tanzim was involved in a verbal altercation with Khulna Tigers’ all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz, which resulted in three demerit points and a 50% match fee fine.
