Sabotage panic raise marking Victory Day celebrations

It is allegedly learnt that a section of people who are the followers of fascist Hasina is going to create anarchy across the country marking the upcoming Victory Day celebrations on Monday.

After the fall of fascist Hasina, conspiracies continue to destroy the law order situation of Bangladesh by the supporters of Awami League.

Experts said though the fascist AL government has gone in the face of steep resistance of the Anti-Discrimination Student-People Movement, its compatriots are still hatching conspiracy.

“As a result, fugitive fallen Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is still saying that she will enter soon. And after coming to power, she will see everyone taking revenge”.

Recently dozens of people have been detained on various allegations including sabotage marking the Victory Day celebrations across the country.

In this regards, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner (DB chief) Rezaul Karim Mallik told The New Nation that police are alert enough to tackle any sort of anarchy and sabotage marking the Victory Day celebrations.

We will never give space the criminals to create chaos in the capital. Already we have taken sufficient measures to maintain law order situation, the DB Chief added.

In this issue, DIG of Dhaka Range AKM Awlad Hossain said in preparation for the celebration of Victory Day, Dhaka District Police has reinforced all security measures and intensified intelligence surveillance.

He shared these updates during his inspection of the security arrangements at the National Martyrs’ Memorial in Savar on Saturday afternoon,
At the event, the DIG said: “Police and intelligence agencies are actively engaged in ensuring the security of the memorial and its surrounding areas.

Nearly 3,000 personnel have been deployed to oversee security. Enhanced measures are also in place in adjacent districts, with special arrangements for traffic management. There are no security threats surrounding Victory Day celebrations.”

He added: “For Victory Day 2024, Dhaka District Police has implemented a five-tier security plan.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has also taken its own measures. Our security arrangements will cover the area starting from Amin Bazar.”

The DIG further said: “Our security efforts are not limited to the National Martyrs’ Memorial; surrounding districts like Manikganj, Tangail, and Gazipur (including the Gazipur Metropolitan area) are also within our security perimeter.”

“We have ensured comprehensive security measures, including uniformed officers, plain-clothed personnel, and members of specialised forces such as APBn.

This will allow VIPs, social and political figures, and their supporters to pay their floral tributes at the memorial in a disciplined and secure environment,” Awlad Hossain added.

He confirmed that all preparations have been completed, and senior officials conducted on-site inspections to review the arrangements.

“A total of 3,112 personnel are on duty. All individuals entering the premises are being thoroughly checked to prevent any untoward incidents,” he further said.

The DIG assured the public that full-phase security measures are in effect and expressed confidence that the celebrations on the December 16 will proceed in a joyous and safe manner, free from any threats.

In this issue, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has said recently that foolproof security measures for peaceful celebration of the Victory Day, Christmas Day and 31st night in the capital.

DMP Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali said this after a coordination meeting on security, law and order and traffic management at DMP headquarters.

“DMP will take flawless security measures to maintain the law and order in the city ahead of the three big events,” he said, seeking full cooperation from the citizens for peacefully celebration of the occasions.

“We have planned foolproof security measures to make sure no untoward and subversive incident is occurred marking the days,” he added.

Earlier on Saturday, police arrested at least 12 leaders and activists of the Awami League on charges of planning to carry out sabotage activities during the Victory Day celebrations in Gazipur.

A court in Gazipur sent them to jail on Saturday afternoon after a case filed against the accused persons with Kapasia Police Station last night by Solaiman Molla, president of the BNP’s Kapasia Durgapur union.

Md Kamal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of Kapasia Police Station confirmed the matter to the media on Saturday evening.

In the case, the plaintiff named 59 more individuals, the OC said.
Quoting locals, the OC said the suspects were planning to carry out sabotage activities in the isolated Dhadhar Char area around 2:30pm on Saturday.

They were detained by local residents and later handed over to police. Later, the BNP leader filed the case against them.

It is learnt that the plot was allegedly led by Harun Or Rashid, also known as Hiron Molla, the absconding chairman of Ghagtia Union Parishad and general secretary of the Awami League in the same union.
