Rudranil Ghosh was once a regular face in Tollywood. His acting has been praised in various roles. However, his image has changed in the last few years. Lately, he is not seen on screen like that anymore. There is only one reason behind that – politics. Rudranil has been largely marginalised in Tollywood since joining the BJP.

Rudranil said that he has been suffering from financial difficulties due to lack of work for a long time. In a recent interview, he said that he had to sell his house and car to save money.

Rudranil said, “I used to drive a Range Rover. A car worth 65 lakh rupees. It was bought not with any political money, but with the money I earned from my acting career. I had to sell the car. I also had to sell a flat in Ranikuthi.”

Rudranil said, “I don’t have any work. So what should I do? I won’t steal. I have had to sell my car and house because I haven’t been allowed to work for a long time. My livelihood was the film industry.”
The producers and friends who once regularly acted in his films no longer call Rudranil due to political differences.

He lamented this and said, “My dear friends are afraid to cast me in their films. Because if they cast me, it will be difficult for them to shoot. The shooting will stop. But when these friends of mine could not eat rice, Rudranil Ghosh stood by them.”

Rudranil got involved in student politics during his college life.
He was close to the Left Party. Later, he joined the Trinamool Congress. Before the 2021 assembly elections, he changed parties again and joined the BJP. He also stood for the BJP in the elections. However, he could not win. Rudranil can be seen as the BJP candidate in the next assembly elections in West Bengal. -Agencies
