The National Sports Council (NSC) nominates two directors in Bangladesh Cricket Board. On October 6, the NSC nominated two persons for the directors of the BCB. One of them was Ishfaq Ahsan. But as Ishfaq Ahsan was a controversial person, then NSC withdrew his name.
Then, there was a conversation in the sports arena that Rubaba Dowla will be the replacement of Ishfaq Ahsan. Rubaba Dowla is a corporate person and also a female entrepreneur. If anyone wants to be a director of the BCB through NSC, she or he must be councillor of the BCB. Rubaba Dowla was not councillor of BCB. The NSC has nominated Rubaba Dowla as the councillor of BCB, an NSC press release said on Monday.
Usually a councillor is approved by the BCB Board of Directors. After that, the NSC nominated the director of BCB. But this time Board of Directors of BCB have approved Rubaba Dowla as councillor and director of the BCB.
Rubaba Dowla is now the Country Director of Oracle of Bangladesh, Nepal and Bhutan chapter.
Earlier, She was a top official of Grameenphone and Grameen Telecom. Besides, she had served president of Bangladesh Badminton Federation from 2009 to 2015. She was also a member of Bangladesh Special Olympic Committee.
