Dhallywood: Rozina meets ailing Kanchan in London
Entertainment Report :
Ilias Kanchan, noted Dhallywood film actor and founder of the Niraap Sarak Chai (NISCHA) movement, has been suffering from a brain tumour.
He has been undergoing treatment in London for five months.
Although news of Ilias Kanchan’s illness was made public earlier this month, Dhallywood’s noted actress Rozina knew the news in advance.
Rozina met Ilias Kanchan while she was in London in mid-September and inquired about him.
Rozina told the media, “I found out in July that Kanchan had been diagnosed with a tumour in his head.
Since then, I have been in regular contact with his family and have been checking up on him. In September, I went to his daughter’s house in London.
That’s when I met him, talked to him, and took pictures. Even though he was sick, he seemed very strong mentally.”
Rozina further said, “Although he looks a little devastated due to the pressure of his illness, Kanchan is standing and praying regularly.
Gradually, he has also talked to me about various things. Since he has a brain problem, he sometimes forgets some things. However, I have seen him well.”
Rozina has acted in many films with Ilias Kanchan. Reminiscing about that time, Rozina said, “I have acted in many films with Ilias Kanchan.
He still holds a place in the hearts of the audience because of his dedication, love and perseverance towards his work. As a person, Kanchan is extraordinary – a calm, polite and deeply humane person.”
Ilias Kanchan had been suffering from various physical complications since the beginning of this year.
When his condition deteriorated, his family members took him to the doctor. After various tests, it was found that Ilias Kanchan had a tumour in his head. Kanchan went to London on April 26 for advanced treatment.
