Rotary International strengthens welfare activities for distressed people

Rotary International Bangladesh Country Deputy Coordinator and former Governor of Rotary AKM Shamsul Huda emphasized Rotary’s continued commitment to support distressed communities in Bangladesh and around the world.
Speaking at a program organised by the Rotary Club of Dhaka Cosmopolitan yesterday in Dhaka, Huda highlighted Rotary’s role in addressing humanitarian needs. The event was presided over by Club President Mahmudul Hasan and addressed by Former Rotary Governor Ghulam Mustafa, Rotarian Rakib Sarder, Nurun Nesa Begum, Dr. Omor Sharif, Asish Kumar and others, says a press release.
During the program Shamsul Huda presented special certificate to Rotarian Abul Khair Chowdhury in recognition of his outstanding contributions to enhancing Rotary’s public image.
Huda urged Rotarians and the wider community to actively support Rotary’s initiatives in poverty eradication, skill development for unemployed youth, and ensuring access to safe drinking water in rural areas.
As part of ongoing commitment to service, the program also included the distribution of sewing machines to distressed women, donations to orphanages, and several other charitable initiatives.
