Rotary Club distributes educational materials among tea workers’ children

Rotary Club of Sylhet Midtown distributed school bags and educational materials to the children of tea workers at Dalia Pre-Primary Education Center located in Lakkatura Tea Estate in Sylhet on Thursday.
Club president Rotarian Rasheduzzaman Rashed Presided over and programme chairman Rotarian Abul Kalam conducted the meeting.
Deputy Country Coordinator of Bangladesh Ripsa Team, PDG Professor Lt. Col. M. Ataur Rahman Pir attened the programme as the chief guest. Speakers in the event said that Rotarians in Bangladesh, like all over the world, are working for socio-social development and the development of poor and backward communities. Rotary clubs have been working on education with special emphasis on various activities. The tea workers of Bangladesh are far behind compared to other professionals. Their children also lag behind in education due to lack of adequate facilities. Therefore, everyone should give special importance to the development of backward communities. The speakers called upon other clubs like the Rotary Club of Sylhet Midtown to come forward more in such public welfare work.
