Metro rail services in Dhaka were halted two hours before the scheduled closing time on Sunday night after two individuals climbed onto the roof of a train near Bangladesh Secretariat.
The incident occurred around 8:00pm when the train stopped at the station to board passengers.
Md Ahsan Ullah Sharifi, deputy project director, public relations, of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited, confirmed that the services were suspended immediately to remove the individuals and conduct safety checks on all trains.
Authorities later decided to close the service for the rest of the night.
