‘Role of trained workers immense in country’s infrastructure dev’

Sr. Staff Reporter, Rangpur :

Chief Engineer of the Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) Gopal Krishna Debnath said that the role of trained workers in the development of the country’s infrastructure is immense. The government has continued various training programmes to create skilled workers.
As a part of this, the ‘Prabhati’ project of the Local Government Engineering Department is working to improve the skills of workers by providing infrastructural training. He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a day-long workshop titled ‘Job Fair For Certified Skill Construction Workers’ held at the conference room of the Rangpur Tourism Motel on Monday. The ‘Prabhati’ project of the Local Government Engineering Department, supported by the OAU, organised this day-long workshop.
The Chief Engineer further said that almost half of the country’s population is women. The overall development of Bangladesh is not possible without including this half of the population in the mainstream of development activities. In order to make women’s participation in infrastructural and economic development participatory, LGED’s Construction Skill Training Center (CSTC) organized a 45-day regular residential training in Gazipur.
