Robbers loot city house

UNB, Dhaka :
Armed robbers took away cash money, gold ornaments and other valuables worth about Tk 45 lakh from the house of a businessman in the city’s Mohammadpur area on Tuesday night.
Police said, a group of three armed bandits pressed the calling bell at the house of Akhter Hossain, owner of Akhter Company, at Satmasjid Housing at about 7:45pm.
Akhter Hossain who owns several business entities, including brick kilns, his wife and three children were staying at the house at that time.
When the main door was opened, the gangsters stormed into the house and took the house inmates
hostage at gunpoint, said sub-inspector Masud of Mohammadpur police station, quoting Akhter Hossain.
The hoodlums looted Tk 13 lakh in cash, 45 tolas of gold ornaments and other valuables before leaving the house, he said.
Contacted, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur police station Azizul Haque said Akhter Hossain filed a case in this regard.
