The owners and workers of the scrap iron and iron pipe manufacturing factories enforced road blockage for about one hour at Madarbari area under Sadarghat thana protesting the detention of five workers of scrap iron shops.
Following the protest programmess of the workers and owners with condition of not obstructing the traffic movement in madarbari DT road by stocking the scrap irons and pipes, the detained workers released and the situation became normal, sources said. The incident occurred at 1.oo pm yesterday.
Officer- in-charge of Sadarghat thana Abul Kalam Azad told admitted the fact of road blockade and a meeting between the police and workers, owners of scrap iron businessmen will be held today for permanent solution of road congestions by the iron traders, sources said.
