On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha-2025, the Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RnMP) and RAB-13 sub-control room have been inaugurated at Modern Intersection, the heart of Rangpur Metropolitan City, to provide services to passengers, protect them from extortionists, and ensure the safe journey of people heading home.
The Sub-Control Room was inaugurated at Modern Intersection in the city on Monday afternoon by the chief guest of the event, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Majid Ali (BPM).
RAB-13 commander Lieutenant Colonel Mohd. Zainul Abedin was present as a special guest at the inauguration ceremony. In addition, Rangpur Motor Owners Association General Secretary Wasimul Bari Raj, Motor Workers Union Convener Harun Chowdhury, and Joint Convener Asaduzzaman Babu were invited guests. Speaking as the chief guest, the Metro Commissioner said that from this sub-control room, vehicle movement, passenger safety and emergency services will be provided before and after Eid, in addition to providing any information, guidance and assistance.
Addressing the drivers, he said, you will drive according to the rules. Do not commit any irregularities on the road. If any irregularities are found, a case will be filed immediately and legal action will be taken. Pointing to people of the third gender, the Commissioner said, if you ask for help, someone will give it. If you take it by force, legal action will be taken by labeling them as extortionists.
