Rimi pursues education despite poverty

Marufa Tamanna Rimi (15) once could not think of education. She is the eldest child of her parents Ripon Mia (42) and Fatema Khatun (38). Rimi is good at studies since childhood but poverty hindered to study to continue.
Her family can’t afford her cost of education.
However, Rimi was enrolled at Muktagacha Ward Vision South Area Program (AP) as a sponsored child in 2013. After that she participated in various programs of World Vision Bangladesh.
Rimi helps many teenagers today in various ways. With the support of World Vision Bangladesh, she is now able to study well.
Later, Rimi’s mother Fatema Khatun enrolled her in the Ultra Poor Graduation (UPG) program. After receiving various trainings, she started cultivating vegetables in her home yard. Fatima Khatun receives a cow from World Vision. After a few days, the cow was sold for Tk. 56000/-.
She bought land and sewing machine with that money. Slowly their family started to get well-off. Rimi took part in anti-corruption program at TIB and git first place.
Rimi’s dream is to become a BCS (Administration) officer. Rimi is grateful to World Vision.
