Recently, several Facebook profiles and pages have been posting political content using the name of the country’s popular actress, Richi Solaiman. These pages, created under her name, have shared posts supporting the lockdown announced by the Awami League.

The posts spread quickly across various platforms, and some online news portals even published reports on the matter. This has put Richi in an embarrassing and uncomfortable situation.

From her one and only official profile, the actress wrote: “I am Richi Solaiman, an actress. I have both patriotism and political awareness. But since politics is not my profession, I never make any political posts nor do I engage in political discussions.

Therefore, I express my deep concern that various so-called unknown online portals are using my photos and name to spread political messages. I want to clearly state that these are not my statements, and I strongly condemn such disgraceful actions.”

Meanwhile, Richi has taken legal action regarding the matter. The actress said, “I respect the law. My lawyer is taking necessary steps. A General Diary (GD) has been filed against the responsible parties.

The police’s Cyber Crime Unit has also been informed. Many people may face similar situations due to such rumors and fabricated news. Therefore, taking legal action is essential. I am proceeding in that direction.”
