At least two people were killed and five others injured when a rice-laden truck lost control and overturned on road in the signboard area at Shitalpur in Sitakunda Upazila of Chattogram on Saturday morning.
The deceased were identified as Atiqur Rahman and Abdul Khaleq. The injured are undergoing treatment in Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
ASI Shilbrata Barua of CMCH police outpost said Comilla Fire Service personnel rescued seven people injured in the truck accident and brought them to the hospital, where doctors declared two of them dead. Two of the injured are in critical condition, doctors said.
