On the holy occasion of 12th Rabiul Awal and Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), a grand Jashne Julus procession was organized in the capital Dhaka, as in previous years. The event was led by Anjumane Rahmaniya Mainiya Maizbhandaria President and BSP Chairman, Dr. Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Maizbhandari, with the participation of hundreds of thousands of Sufi devotees.

On Saturday (September 6), the colorful procession started from the western side of the historic Suhrawardy Udyan, paraded through Doel Chattar, Shikkha Bhaban, and Kadam Fountain roads, and returned to the venue through the western gate to join the Shanti Mahasammelan (Grand Peace Gathering).

From early morning, devout Sufi followers from across the country gathered at Suhrawardy Udyan. This year, the celebration carried extra enthusiasm and spirit as it marked the 1500th anniversary of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

At the front of the procession, large banners displayed the inscriptions “Ya Nabi Salam Alaika” and “Ya Rasool Salam Alaika.” Participants carried flags with the Kalema, placards, and festoons, while a huge national flag was displayed, making the capital’s streets vibrant. The slogans of Narae Takbir and Narae Risalat echoed all around. Participants wore white T-shirts and white caps. Women’s participation in the rally and peace gathering was also notable.

In a brief speech before the procession, BSP Chairman Shahsufi Dr. Syed Saifuddin Ahmad Maizbhandari said:“The Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a special mercy from Allah for the entire humanity. By following his ideals, we can build a peaceful, just, and welfare-oriented society. Rasulullah (PBUH) taught us lessons of harmony, brotherhood, and humanity. Yet today, the world is plagued by wars, conflicts, terrorism, and inhumanity. The only path to lasting peace is to implement the teachings of our beloved Prophet (PBUH).”

He further said:“We must embrace the sacred message of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) in our hearts and apply it in our personal, family, and national lives. Only then will peace, brotherhood, and humanity spread across society.”
