Rejoinder to Report on DSI

Following the publication of a news report titled “AL-backed IT firm DSI’s corruption remains elusive” on September 2o, 2025, has issued a rejoinder protesting the content of the report. The DSI termed the report claiming it baseless, fabricated and misleading.

In a statement, signed by Adnan E Hasin, Executive, Admin Dynamic Solution Innovators Ltd, alleged that about the CRVS project, DSI had no role in the government’s nationwide program. Our limited involvement was only in a pilot project (2018–2020), fully funded by Plan International, which we successfully completed and handed over.

It further stated that in the IEMIS project, we (DSI) delivered 10 modules under the second lot at a contract value that was significantly less than the figure claimed in the report, all of which were certified as completed. These modules are in active use for SSC and HSC examination management. The BCIC automation project was awarded under a fully transparent, competitive procurement process following a rigorous two-month evaluation.
“If a formal complaint is filed with the Public Procurement Authority, we would be more than happy to cooperate. The fertilizer management tender is still under evaluation, and all the firms participating in it fulfill the qualification criteria; thus, any allegations are entirely premature and speculative.

“Allegations also include inflated hardware costs; however, we would like to stress that DSI has never been involved in any hardware supply. We have always operated strictly as a software service provider, and in none of our projects have we ever supplied hardware,” the report claimed.

It further claimed that the journalist attempted to contact us. We categorically state that no such attempt was made. Moreover, the report fails to cite any official document, verifiable investigation, or statement from a responsible authority. Instead, it relies on vague references such as “experts have urged” or “reports claim,” without naming any experts or sources.

This is a clear violation of journalism ethics and best practices. The disregard for fundamental journalistic ethics in this report strongly indicates a deliberate attempt to defame our organization, which constitutes a criminal offence under the laws of Bangladesh.

Such baseless allegations, the statement added, have caused serious harm to our reputation and goodwill. We urge you to publish this rejoinder prominently to set the record straight.

The New Nation reiterates its commitment to balanced journalism. The rejoinder is published here in full respect of the DSI’s right to clarification. We regret this unintentional representation of the facts.
