Any attempt by the Secretariat to obstruct ongoing reform efforts will be met with strong resistance backed by public support, warned Hasnat Abdullah, Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP) for the southern region.

Speaking to reporters on Monday at Biplob Udyan in Soloshahar during his second day of organizational tours in Chattogram (north), Hasnat said public interest in the NCP is growing, especially among youth. “People are now vocal about their problems and eager for solutions. They see new hope in the NCP,” he noted.

Hasnat alleged that a faction within the Secretariat has been conspiring against the government since August 5. “Even now, as I speak, conspiracies are underway in Dhaka. The NBR has become a hotbed of corruption,” he claimed.

He emphasized that every move to support the government’s reform and justice agenda is met with resistance. “Don’t think you’re irreplaceable,” Hasnat warned government officials. “Hasina once believed she had no alternative, but the people have proven otherwise. Those obstructing reform from within the Secretariat will be replaced too.”

He cautioned against chaos and reminded that the people are ready to defend progress.

Dr Tasnim Zara, NCP’s senior joint member secretary, and other district-level leaders were also present. On Sunday, Hasnat held roadside rallies in nine upazilas of Chattogram (south) as part of his tour.
